Family: Aromobatidae (115 sp.) Subfamily: Allobatinae (46 sp.) Subfamily: Anomaloglossinae (31 sp.) Subfamily: Aromobatinae (37 sp.). Found in Central and South America: from Nicaragua to Colombia, in Peru, Ecuador, and Brazil (Amazonian lowlands, Brazilian Atlantic Forest); some species live in Martinique, Trinidad and Tobago. Males 28–33 mm, females 33–35 mm. Males are aggressive toward other males.
Non-venomous. Possess a protective coloration.
