You are on the website of two biologists, lecturers at the Department of Zoology and Animal Ecology, Faculty of Biology, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. Batrachos (βάτραχος, pronounced "batrachos") is the ancient Greek name for green frogs - the authors' research subject and, more broadly, a symbol of biology. The site was created in early 2011.
The Blog collects D.Sh.'s columns from his time as a columnist for Computerra magazine, along with his photographs and notes. Online support for the courses of D.Sh. and M_K is provided through News and Courses - such as the online vertebrate zoology course, an ecology textbook, and more. "Frogs etc." are articles by members of the amphibian population ecology group at Karazin University, and Sources are educational literature and other texts useful to students.
