Heleophryne hewitti Heleophryne regis Heleophryne rosei Habitat – fast-flowing rocky streams.

They have camouflage coloration. During the breeding season, males develop nuptial pads on their front legs, as well as small spines under the armpits and on the fingers. This helps them hold on to partners during mating. Eggs are attached to rocks near fast-flowing streams. Tadpoles have a sucker with which they cling to slippery rocks to avoid being swept away by strong currents. Metamorphosis takes 1 to 2 years. Sources: 1. Vitt L.J., Caldwell J.P. Herpetology.
