Zoology-2012. Towards the Field Practice in Gaydary

Dear second-year students, the field practice in vertebrate zoology in Gaydary lies ahead. It will be conducted by Tatyana Andreyevna Atemasova and me, Dmitry Andreyevich Shabanov. See what awaits you during the practice, based on the experience of the previous course. First of all, everything I wrote a year ago here still applies. In short, the main thing is: bring laptops, cameras, flashlights, flash drives, modems for internet access, binoculars, voice recorders, GPS receivers (of course, if you have this equipment and can afford to bring it). If you do not bring it, the practice will not fall apart; if you do, you will be able to work more efficiently. Clothing should be comfortable, and closed. It may be hot, rainy, and mosquito-ridden. Rubber boots (if you have them) and raincoats will not hurt. The results of last year's practice are described here. Pay special attention to the UIRS topics that were completed last time. This year we need to do even better. Look at the student publications based on the practice for 2011, 2010, 2009, and 2008 (these are not all of them, only those related to frogs; there were also other zoological, as well as botanical, works). I would like such publications to be made in 2012 as well. Get ready for serious work and the pleasure that comes with it. This is not a paradox: you will become professionally successful if you enjoy your work!
