The competition is over. The decision has been made. Logo proposal No. 4, submitted by Maryna Kryvokhyzhaya, has been selected. Here it is in its final version.[IMG_1]And these are the options the committee chose from.Logo No. 1:[IMG_2]The author of this logo gave no special explanation. The idea behind this design is quite clear.Logo No. 2:[IMG_3]The author's commentary on this logo is given in the comments to this page (see below).Logo No. 3:(presented in four variants at once and is undoubtedly distinguished by its conciseness)[IMG_4]Logo No. 4[IMG_5]Logo No. 5[IMG_6]Logo No. 6[IMG_7]As you may have guessed, logos 4, 5, and 6 belong to the same author. They emphasized that they were guided by "such criteria as conciseness, print-friendly colors, recognizability and clarity in any format from 1 cm to 10 m, ease of embroidering (for example on security service patches), and the ability to describe in words".Logo No. 7[IMG_8]The logo's authors explained that it depicts a steppe viper (probably the most remarkable of the Red Book species protected in Dvurechansky Park), whose body forms the letter D (reminiscent of the park's name). The viper is a fitting symbol for a protected area: it is truly a rare and remarkable animal that nonetheless causes certain concerns and requires extremely careful handling. The discovery of the steppe viper in Dvurechansky Park is probably the northernmost point of its range in the Ukrainian part. The steppe-like vegetation on the chalk deposits of Stary Oskol is determined not by climate but by the combination of soils and terrain; it is all the more remarkable that a typical steppe species has penetrated here.By the way, it is possible that such a viper could be placed, for instance, against a background similar to that of Logo No. 5 (instead of the peony), extending beyond the edge of the frame (I remind you that this page collects not final logos but their proposals, and the version that will ultimately be used may combine elements of several proposed solutions)...Logo No. 8[IMG_9]The author's commentary on the logo:"This drawing depicts the main feature of Dvurechansky National Nature Park — the chalk massif. To this day, remains of belemnites that lived during the Cretaceous period can often be found in the chalk massif (right). The chalk 'mountains' are rich in various endemics, such as Androsace koso-poljanskii (left), which is a treasure of the National Nature Park."Logo No. 9In the "spam" folder, I discovered another logo variant that had been erroneously placed there by the anti-spam program. It's a shame the author never reacted to the fact that their logo hadn't been posted...I apologize to the author for the way my email worked. In any case, this situation should not have affected the competition results — after all, the author could have sent a letter or written a comment on the site asking whether their project had been received. And here is the project itself:[IMG_10]
