Primitive groupings
In a lecture for one of the courses, primitive groupings were discussed (rank hierarchy among adolescents, behavioral responses, rules of primitive groups, and so on). A statement was made about the reason people try to humiliate and suppress "white crows"... There it was said that "white crows" are subconsciously perceived as carriers of supposedly "bad" mutations, which is what leads to their persecution. I was reminded of Protopopov's treatise and the description of reactions to the "new" and the "not like us". Here, by contrast, they are subconsciously perceived as carriers of new and possibly useful mutations, and therefore attract women. For men, only the number of matings matters, and their attitude toward the newcomer is left unspoken. In light of all this, the question is: should these two statements be compared at all, and if so, why do they differ?
