Sphaerodactylidae

Family Sphaerodactylidae Distribution: Southern Europe, North Africa, North and South America, Middle and Central Asia, Caribbean islands. The family Sphaerodactylidae includes 12 genera: Aristelliger Chatogekko Coleodactylus Euleptes Gonatodes Lepidoblepharis Pristurus Pseudogonatodes Quedenfeldtia Sphaerodactylus Saurodactylus Teratoscincus, comprising 201 species. Lizards are medium-sized. The head is broad and high. The body is covered with uniform scales rounded at the posterior edge and overlapping one another. Sphaerodactyl geckos differ from others by their small size and round pupils.
