Zoology-2011. Results of Work During the Semester in the Vertebrate Zoology Course

Congratulations on the end of the semester. I provide the full table of results (according to the data available to me): how many points each person earned and which modules each person must still complete. Addition: THE TIME OF CONSULTATIONS AND THE TEST IS SPECIFIED! The examination (a written response to tickets containing 2 exam questions and 4 questions for those who mu...

Dear second-year students, the semester is over. Below is a summary table showing your results. The “Total” column (the second-to-last one) shows the total number of points you have earned. For the first module, a single overall grade was assigned; for the other three, separate grades were given for tests and for submitting topic papers to instructors. The “weight” of the grades is as follows: “A” — 8 points, “B” — 7 points, “C” — 6 points, “D” — 5 points, “E” — 4 points, “FX” — 2 points, “—” — 0 points. When adding up the 7 grades worth 8 points each (highlighted with an underline in the table), you could have earned 56 points. This means that if your total score is higher than 50, you finished the semester with an “A,” and if it is lower than 28, with an “FX.” Only Roman Mironov achieved the maximum score. I suggest the rest of you ask him—maybe he knows some secret?ATTENTION! Consultations for all groups are on Thursday, June 9. Groups with exams on June 10 should come to the consultation at 1:30 PM. Groups with exams on the 11th should come to the consultation at 12:00 PM. The test for those who need to retake modules will take place on June 9 at 3:00 PM. You must bring your grade book to the exam. If you wish to improve your grade, I can help you prepare for a retest on those modules where your grade is lower than you’d like. This does not apply to those who have failed a module. Retesting is a way to improve an existing grade. I will only be able to take your retest results into account during the exam if you let me know in advance that you plan to take the retest before the exam. In that case, be prepared for me to ask you an additional question on the exam regarding the module for which you are retaking the assessment. If you do not score 28 points, you will receive an “FX” grade. This means that on the exam, in addition to the exam questions, you will also have to answer in writing questions from the modules you did not pass. However, there is no need to retake the test or take separate exams on those topics; the module is considered as a whole. The scope of the module you’ll be retaking will be slightly broader than it was during the semester, and the requirements will be stricter. However, this means that you can significantly improve your standing on the exam. Of course, I am available to answer your questions during office hours.
