Dear second-year students! The most important part of your practical grade — the grade for NDRS, student research work. Here you will find which materials you must submit in order for the results of your work to be made publicly available.
Dear second-year students! The most important part of your practical grade is the grade for NDRS — student research work. This is not merely a coursework assignment; it must be the result of answering some new question. Such work should therefore be assessed differently from, say, answers to exam questions. The primary result of your work is, first of all, a presentation. Its structure is described in the methodological guidelines you have, or here: /NDRS. You create this presentation using whatever programmes you use (Microsoft PowerPoint, LibreOffice Impress, etc.) and export it to .pdf format, in which your presentation will be convenient to view on the Internet. The second part of your work is the text of your talk, which can be created in any word processor. The third and final part is a recording of your presentation. You can scroll through the presentation on your computer screen, stand beside it, deliver your talk, and record it even with a mobile phone. Another option is to record your computer screen and microphone audio while you show the presentation and comment on it. There are many programmes for this (https://www.bandicam.com/screen-recorder/, https://icecreamapps.com/Screen-Recorder/, etc.). The presentation must be no longer than 7 minutes! Please do not create large files! The recording quality should be moderate; what matters most to your audience is the content, not visual polish. Reminder: the most important requirement is independence. You may use other people's materials, but you must always acknowledge this. Please do not pass off other people's texts, illustrations, or work as your own! You send the presentation in .pdf format, the text of the talk, and the video recording (by 21:00 on Sunday, 12 July) to shabanov@karazin.ua. From Monday, 13 July, these materials will be available on the batrachos.com website. The instructors will likely organise a discussion of your work on Zoom, in which case you will be able to join the general discussion.
