The Chromosomal Set of God and the Destruction of School Education
Do you know that creationists report the results of a karyotype analysis of Jesus Christ, and that this argument is used as “evidence” of the immaculate conception? Do you know that there have been statements about the plans of our MONMS (well, the Ministry of Education, as it used to be called) to introduce the teaching of creationism in schools?
I am very interested in the topic of chromosome set transformations, especially in amphibians. But it turns out that something on this topic can also be found among creationists. To begin with – an extended quote from here: On January 6, 1982, Ron Wyatt identified the location of the cave that houses the Ark of the Covenant. Earlier he had discovered that the site of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ is directly above this cave. Ron hypothesized that during an earthquake at the time of the crucifixion “the stones shifted” and a fissure formed, connecting the crucifixion site with the cave that contained the Ark of the Covenant. Ron claimed that during the crucifixion the blood of Christ flowed along this fissure and reached the lid of the Ark of the Covenant, which had been hidden under divine guidance in this cave hundreds of years before Christ’s death. On the vaulted ceiling of the cave Ron found stains of a “dark‑brown substance,” which he took to be “dried blood,” assuming it was the blood of Jesus Christ. He then carefully collected (simply scraped) this material from the stone into whatever he had at hand, namely a plastic case for 35‑mm film. He then took this sample to a laboratory in Jerusalem. Thus, Ron Wyatt took a sample of Christ’s blood from near the fissure in the cave ceiling and paid an Israeli laboratory to analyze the blood. They placed the dark substance in a saline solution for 72 hours. Ron asked them to perform a chromosome analysis, but they explained that he would be wasting money, because chromosome analysis on dead leukocytes would not yield results. Ron persisted, and they continued the analysis, saying: “You will lose your money.” When they began examining the cells under an electron microscope, they saw cells dividing before their eyes! The blood was alive! They could not believe what they were observing! Other people in the laboratory gathered at the microscope to verify it personally. With tears in their eyes they asked: “Whose blood is this?” and Ron Wyatt answered: “It is the blood of your Messiah.” They asked: “Who is this Messiah?” They continued the analysis and discovered that each cell of this blood contains only 24 chromosomes, compared with the normal count of 46 that you and I have. Christ inherited 23 chromosomes from Mary and one Y chromosome from the Heavenly Father. On the one hand, no other human born on Earth has ever had such a chromosome set (which proves His divine nature), and on the other – through Mary’s chromosomes He took on the flesh and blood of fallen humanity in order to fully identify with brothers and be their merciful high priest! There is much more interesting material there, including the “somadid theory” … And another perspective (quote from the post by andreykaydash07 on this forum). All these “discoveries” were made by Ron Wyatt – a former anesthesiology assistant, a person without historical education, archaeological experience, a member of the Seventh‑Day Adventist Church. It is unclear how he obtained permission to conduct excavations in Israel at all, which, as is known, is granted only with an academic degree … The deceased are either accepted or not … after his death absolutely disgraceful facts emerged, because this man for many years fed promises to publish something, to conduct analyses, to finally present evidence to the huge number of Christians who were unfortunate enough to believe him … His name appears on the list of people, “discoveries” and arguments that the official creationist journal Creation Magazine VERY strongly recommends (actually begs) not to mention in debates with evolutionists … His own church issued refutations of his “finds,” and two scientists (with diplomas), one of whom personally knew Ron, also Adventists, published the book *Holy Relics or Revelation* in which they shamefully acknowledge the sheer falsehood of his statements … Now about the blood of Jesus. NO ONE EVER saw any official result of a “blood” analysis … Ron never named the Israeli laboratory that performed this “analysis,” and for many years promised to carry out official research in the USA … people believed and waited … he died in 1999 … Do you think that by drawing attention to these materials I am compromising faith? No, it is not I who compromise it, but those who are ready to spread pious nonsense! When I “kick” creationists in the computer, I am periodically reproached: why am I fighting some marginal groups, everyone already understands everything. The desire to oppose creationist nonsense characterizes me as a masochist. Oh, how nice it would be if it were true! And here is evidence that the threat is quite real: It is possible that as early as the next academic year Ukrainian schoolchildren will study scientific creationism as an alternative to evolutionary theory. Scientists, politicians, spiritual leaders and parents of schoolchildren call for aligning the educational state standard with the Constitution of Ukraine. In the Ministry of Education, Science, Youth and Sports of Ukraine, a round‑table discussion addressed the need to provide students with a holistic worldview and objective information regarding existing theories of the origin of the Universe. … Opening the session, Yuri Reshetnikov invited participants to discuss how to overcome Soviet‑era elements in the domestic educational process and to nurture in our schools a full, integrated and free personality. “We have two books by which we measure our lives: the Constitution and the Bible. According to recent research, about 80 % of Ukrainian citizens consider themselves believers, and the Church in Ukraine enjoys the support of 70 % of the population. Yet we have a basic education state standard that reflects neither responsibility before the Constitution, nor before the Bible, nor before the millions of our compatriots who hold creationist views of the cosmos and humanity’s place in it,” noted during the discussion the head of the Alliance of Christian Professionals, Rostyslav Semykov. … Valeriy Reshetnsky, President of the Research Institute of the Genesis of Life and the Universe, drew participants’ attention to the fact that none of the existing world‑view theories provides answers to the major philosophical questions that humanity has wrestled with for millennia – and only scientific creationism offers us a strict and harmonious theory within which these questions find a fairly simple and logical explanation. Representatives of the Ministry of Education, in their speeches, noted that such integration has long been overdue. They explained how teacher‑practitioners in history, biology, physics and other subjects help children see the world in its full wholeness and completeness, without distortions and ideological overlays. More nonsense was uttered by various officials. The joke is that while imposing dogmas they speak of freedom from ideological overlays and the development of critical thinking. Citing the Constitution and the Bible, they forget that we do not live in a theocratic state. I hope I will not let down my correspondent if I quote fragments from his personal letter received this morning (yesterday I asked him how he ended up in such a strange place). The personal nature of the letter gave it an accessible style. In one respect the letter comforted me – there are still sane people in the Ministry. In the end, I just quoted a message on a creationist website that apparently placed the emphasis according to its own taste. So: … the mess was extraordinary. They gathered a crowd of active creationists – and officials from the Ministry of Education … to discuss how to insert scientific creationism into school textbooks. Note: there was no real discussion at all, no one tried to discuss whether a boy existed, whether he was alive, etc. They gave only the basics of religious ethics in the 5th grades, then merged them into general biology in grades 10‑11. I do not know what was written in the releases, but the officials responsible for educational content, to be fair, stood firm to prevent it. When I managed to insert a five‑kopeck contribution, I essentially said the only possible thing – when creationism meets Popper’s criteria of a scientific theory, primarily falsifiability, then it can be talked about being included anywhere. … I will print a photo from the next such gathering on a T‑shirt, as attached. Since then, I will insert the mentioned photograph into this post. Here it is: [IMG_1]The billboard inscription reads: “RELIGION – LIKE A LIMB. It’s wonderful that you possess it. It’s wonderful that you are proud of it. But please, do not shake it and do not brandish it in public. AND PLEASE do not try to force this on my children.” Feminists should like it. I will not insist on this assessment, but I allow that the billboard exploits a more or less displaced aversion to sexuality imposed by the same religion. At least, in the mere possession of the mentioned organ I see nothing shameful (and I see shame only in brandishing it, especially imposing it on children). Finally, I duplicate the link I received this morning (Gleb, thank you!). Dawkins on TED urges atheists to move from politeness toward religion to trampling it (note: those like me who poorly understand spoken English can use the Russian subtitles, which must be selected in the dialog below the video window). By the way, I agree with Dawkins’s assessment of atheism not 100 %; I think that organizing one’s life as a kind of dialogue is quite adaptive. However, in the context of what Dawkins says, this difference of opinion is not principled. Unfortunately, the topic is not closed … Should I write another column?
