Zoology-2019. Rector's Control Results
This year the examination test was conducted in the computer lab, in the form of a rector's control. The results, overall, are, in my (D.Sh.) view, satisfactory.
This year the examination test was conducted in the computer lab, in the form of a rector's control. The results, overall, are, in my (D.Sh.) view, satisfactory.
The distribution of results is shown in the chart.
You can see that this distribution roughly corresponds to the results of previous tests and is, in general, better than the results of the examination test in previous years. It seems that taking a test in this format is easier for you. Well, I am glad about this. I hope we will continue to use computer-based testing going forward.
The best result (79% correct answers) was achieved by Alina Pokus (who, incidentally, also received the highest scores for her semester work). The correlation between points earned during the semester and the percentage of correct answers in the rector's control is quite high — 73%. It is interesting to look at the relationship between these grades.
You can see that students who worked well during the semester showed a strong connection between their semester results and the examination test. Some of those who accumulated few semester points performed relatively well on the test. The biggest "leap" was made by Iryna Toliaryk, who had not defended any topics at the practical sessions and therefore received 0 semester points. Nevertheless, she managed to answer 70% of the test questions correctly.
When grading this test, I assigned the highest score of 16 to the best result (79%); half of that score corresponded to 46% correct answers. The overall picture was as follows:
All students sat the test except Daria Maksymova, who had arranged an individual study plan and had already passed zoology, and three students who missed the entire course: Yevtukhova Daria, Kolosov Bohdan, and Huseinov Rizvan. These three will only be admitted to the exam if they present a written permission from the dean or deputy dean for academic affairs on their application, explaining why they missed the entire course and part of the exam.

I hope you will improve your results at the final stage — the written exam! As a reminder, students who do not have a grade for any of the semester topics must answer an additional question on that topic. Those who do have some grade for those topics may retake them. In that case, they must inform me that they are retaking that topic BEFORE receiving their exam card (so that I can zero out their semester grade for that topic).
Please work hard!
