Ecology-2016. Results of Work During the Course

The ecology course is completed. Most students received a passing grade. Decide for yourself whether to give the earned grade or improve it. Those who did not earn 50 points will have to take the exam. The first attempt during the exam session involves written answers only to questions from the topics (out of four) for which students need to get or improve their grade. A repeat attempt or an attempt after the end of the exam session will involve written answers to all four questions from all four topics of the course.

Here are the overall results. Klinova confirmed her leadership but lowered her absolute score. The composition of the chasing group has changed compared to previous tests.

The results of the three best students are marked on it.\n[IMG_2]\nThanks to Sasha Klinova's excellent result (smart girl!!!), who set the benchmark for grading everyone else (in all four tests, the maximum number of points was equated to Klinova's result), only two people earned a grade of five (excellent) based on the total points: she herself and Danylo Yermakov. You can look at the results of previous years and see that Sasha answered the tests exceptionally well. I thought that having a person with Sasha's intellectual power alongside other students should not worsen their results. In general, I did the following. Everyone who scored more than 55 points (except Sasha herself, of course) receives the \"Klinova adjustment\": additional points. Those who scored from 56 to 60 points receive a bonus of 1 point, from 61 to 65 — 2 points, and so on up to those who scored from 86 to 91 — they receive 8 points. Yermakov thus receives 99 points (were it not for Sasha in the course, the other grades would have been calculated in comparison to Danylo's points), and Klinova (without any adjustments) — an took ecology at other institutions. I will transfer whatever grades they earned elsewhere to them. However, I believe that a system of mechanical transfer of old grades is not optimal. At least I much prefer the approach of Nadiya Trotsenko, who conscientiously worked through the course and earned her credit, to the approach of Anastasia Abudyunna and Anastasia Agapiy, who simply did not show up to class. Anastasia Kalinichenko and Yuliya Yakymuk worked during the ecology course, but not very successfully; nevertheless, I will also transfer their grades from elsewhere. Ecology is taught differently in different places; I am not sure that grades should be transferred automatically (although I will do exactly that this year, and in the future, if I have to transfer grades, I will consult on the correct approach). Everyone else will have to take the course under the general conditions.\n[IMG_3]\nAt times when you have classes scheduled, you can get grades entered in your record books or complete/repeat what you worked on during the semester.
