Zoology‑2015. Semester work results (including tests for Modules III and IV)
Grades for all modules and calculation of points earned during the semester
Better late than never, right? Finally presenting the results of the students' work throughout the semester. The delay is due, among other things, to the fact that I had to fix the test grading system (the result for the reptiles turned out to be better than what I reported in the lecture). Oleonora Pustovalova - thank you for your help! So, first - the last two tests. Here is the distribution of results for the third test. Here - for the fourth. In addition, I received grades for the oral defense of topics from Tetiana Andriivna and Oleksiy Vladyslavovych. Please check that they are reflected correctly in the table. The table shows all changes related to additional defenses, information about which I received from T.A. and O.V. The table presents the results of all four modules. The "weight" of the grades and the calculation method correspond to the rules I announced at the beginning of the semester. The first module contributes 8 points to the final grade (this is the grade for the oral defense of the topic), the other three - 16 points each (oral defense + test). The notations used in the table are as follows: "T" - grade for the defense of the topic for the corresponding module; "P" - % of correct answers in the test (indicated for the third and fourth modules); "B" - grade assigned for the test. The "weight" of grades: A = 8 points, B = 7 points, C = 6 points, D = 5 points, E = 4 points, FX = 2 points. In total for the semester, you could earn 56 points (Koneva, Katrushenko, and Pavliy managed to do this). If you did not pass the topic orally, the test grade is not taken into account. I am very concerned that 28 people have not earned a single point this semester; to get a positive grade on the exam, they need to "accelerate" significantly. The overall distribution of points earned during the semester is shown in the figure below. What can you do now? Check your grades and my calculations. Ask the instructors to correct errors in my table, if any. Retake (if instructors are willing to accept) missed or poorly passed topics. Prepare for the exam (questions - here!). I remind you that each exam ticket contains 2 mandatory questions (everyone answers them) and 4 questions for retaking modules. Those who worked throughout the semester will answer 2 questions; those who for some reason did not complete the program - 6. Of course, preparing 6 questions is more difficult; I can only sympathize with those who did not heed the advice to work intensively throughout the semester. There will be no meetings for consultations. The consultation for exam preparation will be conducted online, on the forum of this site. Before asking questions, please check if I have already answered it. So, the overall result.
